We have carefully researched and selected the best European-made wig brands that are not only multi award-winning but have also proven to be the most comfortable and impeccably made. However, it is still important you take care of your wig with  proper washing, storing and styling to ensure it can stand the test of time.

Caring for Human Hair Wigs

Washing

We recommend that if you’re wearing a human hair wig every day, it should be washed every 2-3 weeks. Always wash your human hair wig in tepid, warm running water. Be careful to never use hot water as this can damage the wig. We recommend that your hair is gently combed before washing (starting at the tips up to the hairline) using a special wig comb with rounded ends (not sharp combs or commercial brushes).

  •  - You can place your wig over a polystyrene head and secure it with a couple of pins (being careful to not pierce the lace front or monofilament top), or put your wig over one fist and hold it under a tepid warm tap, letting the hair wet completely from roots to end.

  •  - Apply your recommended wig shampoo in a downwards stroking motion from top to end, squeezing gently to ensure it penetrates and distributes evenly. You can leave this to soak in for 10-15 minutes then rinse the shampoo out under running water, the same way you wet the wig originally.

  •  - Gently apply the wig conditioner and leave for up to 5 minutes, and comb it through using your wig comb. If you have any tangles, gently lie the wig on a flat surface and comb it from bottom to top with the conditioner still in (never comb the roots where they are tied as this can cause damage).

  •  - Rinse as before

  •  - To dry, lay the wig on a towel and fold the towel over and press the water out of the hair to remove most of the excess. Now you can use a wide tooth comb to gently comb from tips to roots. We then recommend a folding wig stand or a vase/jar to dry your wig naturally after, or leave it to dry naturally on a towel. You can also use a hair dryer on medium heat if needed. Do not comb or brush your wig while it's still wet or damp as this may damage the hair.

Storing

When your wig is not in use, it is best stored on a wig stand to allow ventilation.

Styling

We recommend using specific hair reconstruct/moisture additive products because these help to minimize breakage, tangling or hair loss. Always let the hair dry at least 50% naturally before styling the wig - you will find it easier and the hair will be less likely to tangle during that time.

Caring for Synthetic Wigs

Washing

We recommend that if you’re wearing a synthetic wig every day, it should be washed every 3 weeks. Always wash your human hair wig in cold water to avoid damage. Before washing your wig, you should de-tangle it carefully using a wide tooth wig comb and lightly brush it, ensuring not to pull or drag the fibres.

  •  - Fill a bowl with cold water (always cold, because heat will damage the hair), and mix a capful of shampoo inter the water. Immerse your wig and let it soak for a few minutes.

  •  - Rinse your wig in a fresh bowl of cold water to remove the shampoo, without squeezing or wringing the wig which can cause damage.

  •  - Apply conditioner directly to the hair in a downwards stroking motion from roots to ends. Leave the conditioner in for 4-5 minutes.

  •  - Rinse again using the same method in more fresh cold water.

  •  - Towel dry your synthetic wig by placing the wig between a folded towel and patting (not squeezing, rubbing or wringing)

Storing

When your wig is not in use, it is best stored on a wig stand to allow ventilation. Place the wig on a folding wig stand or over a jar or vase to dry naturally. Be careful to never use a hair dryer on synthetic wigs because the heat will damage the fibres.

Styling

When your wig is dry, gently shake it to regain its natural style, or you can also use your fingers to style it. Don't use a comb or it will dry with comb lines in it.
